Steven’s Entrepreneurial Journey
Q: What inspired you to start your own business?
For many years I wanted to start my own business. I had numerous ideas but they never became a reality.
During my Master’s I knew that once I graduate I would finally feel ‘ready’ to build my own business. Because of my academic expertise in the field of digital business and innovative technologies, and the developments in the digital landscape, I had the correct foundation and timing to build and launch my business.
Q: What were the biggest challenges you faced when starting your business?
Creating awareness for my company, along with authority and trust in what my company has to offer.
When you start your own company, clients aren’t standing in line as they don’t know you or your product/service yet. Ensure people and potential clients become aware of you and your business and why they should do business with you.
Q: How did you overcome these challenges?
By staying persistent in creating awareness for my company and my expertise on LinkedIn and utilizing both my personal and professional network.
I am also lucky to have a loving wife who has helped me overcome the mental challenges of starting off my business, when I didn’t have clients and I started to doubt myself and my business model.
Q: What were some of the key learnings you gained during your entrepreneurial journey?
To keep believing in myself, what my business has to offer, and, most importantly, what value I can deliver to my clients.
Also, to stay consistent in the execution of the chosen strategies and to adapt where needed based on the type / amount of responses /feedback / business it brings to the company.
At the end of the day what matters is the value you provide to your customers. Without listening and adapting to your ICP’s (ideal customer profile) changes, you won’t be able to grow and succeed in the type of business you’re in.

Q: What are your key business strategies that have contributed to your success?
- Consistency in marketing my business and my expertise through multiple channels.
- Consistently educating myself in the developments of AI and other digital innovations.
- Talking to and listening to other professionals and business owners.
- Adapting to changes in the digital and business landscape.
- Maintaining focus on my work, my business and my clients.
Q: Can you share a specific success story or milestone that you’re particularly proud of?
One project stood out to me because of the genuine emotional reaction from the small business owner when they realized, and afterwards experienced, how much our solutions would help them with their manual and repetitive tasks and processes.
As a company you’re helping other companies perform more effectively and more efficiently, but what you’re actually doing is helping people. You’re helping people reduce operational costs, reduce human errors, other inefficiencies, and stress.
You’re helping them run their business more smoothly, consequently helping people make their work more enjoyable. And when work becomes more enjoyable, life will become more enjoyable. When you experience you’re really helping people, you know you’re making a difference.
Q: What do you believe sets your business apart from competitors?
I’m not sure what sets my business apart from competitors and how, but for me it all comes down to focus, execution, consistency, adaptability, exceptional customer experience, and relentless pursuit of results.

Q: What is the most valuable piece of business advice you’ve ever received?
“It’s just business.”
Q: What advice would you give to aspiring entrepreneurs who are just starting out?
Aspiring entrepreneurs often feel they need to have everything figured out before they start. The truth is, you won’t know everything, and that’s okay.
The key is to start, learn, and adapt as you go. The journey won’t be smooth, but if you focus on providing real value, learning from failures, and willingness to pivot and adapt, you’ll have a solid foundation to build on.
Q: What is your message to other business owners who may be facing challenges?
When challenges arise, remember why you started. Embrace the pain as part of the process—it’s where growth happens.
Use setbacks as lessons and be willing to reassess and pivot if needed. Stay focused on your purpose, adapt to market changes, and push through the tough times. These moments often lead to the biggest breakthroughs in your business journey.
Q: Looking back, what would you do differently if you could start over?
Looking back, I hoped I would have started my business sooner; every headstart you can get is valuable in this competitive landscape.
Also, In the beginning, I tried to tackle too many things at once—different ideas, multiple projects, and too many goals. If I could start over, I would focus on mastering one thing at a time, ensuring that I fully understood the pains and needs of my ICP’s.

Q: How has technology (such as Generative AI) impacted your business?
AI is part of my business model and proposition, so it has impacted my business tremendously. Without AI I wouldn’t be able to provide the solutions I am delivering to my clients.
As technology, in general, is continuously evolving, so do new solutions for new problems for businesses. By staying on top of these changes, I will be able to have a continuous flow of new clients for my business.
Internally, technology, AI, and automations is what my business operates on: outbound and inbound communication, CRM, meetings, accounting, etc. Without these tools and systems, my company and myself wouldn’t be able to operate as efficiently as we are doing today.
Q: What role has mentorship or networking played in your success?
I haven’t utilized the concept of mentorship during the period of my business, however I am looking to explore that in the near future. In order to grow, I will need the mentoring from someone who has experience in the levels of success I am aspiring to reach.
Networking has played an important role in my success as through networking (past and present) I’ve been able to attract new and recurring clients for my business. By providing value to my clients, I’ve been referred to new potential clients from their network.
Q: What are your future goals and aspirations for your business?
My future goals and aspirations for my business is to become THE name in the space of AI and automation solutions and related consulting within the Benelux.
My goal is for companies to want to work with us and for people to come and want to work for us. My vision and strategy afterwards is to become more productized in my services and to expand my services to other countries within and outside of the EU.
